My friend no longer visits me

I have a neighbour who wishes to remain anonymous who has a good friend who is an old lady and can't walk far -- because of the recent difficulty in parking anywhere close, she no longer visits. A sad consequence.

The ambulance fails to arrive

I had a heart scare a few months ago. My wife was told by our doctor to call 999. When the ambulance arrived it could not get down our road because it was blocked by badly parked cars. (It is common for service vehicles to fail to make their way down for the same reason.)

In this particular case it didn't have serious consequences because I was not incapacitated and was able to walk up the hill to the waiting ambulance. But I couldn't help thinking how upsetting, even life-threatening, it would have been had I actually suffered a heart attack and there had been delay in getting me to A&E.

The builder

We dread coming down here, when on earth are you lot going to get a system like they have in Bath? That is great - we are given a One Day permit and can park easily.

The taxi driver

I cannot understand why there is a delay with this Resident's Parking ... it is so obvious that buses and taxis will get around much faster if you stop the commuters driving in. Makes me so fed up. So b****** obvious.

We are part of the backdrop to the historic Bristol City Docks

We are part of the history of the Docks with our little terraced houses, our VERY narrow streets, very tight bends. It seems mad to allow a historic area to be used as a public car park. We may not have the Georgian grandeur of Bath, but our little coloured terraces perched on the hill are as much a part of the Bristol landscape as the Suspension Bridge. We actually deserve a bit of love and care from the Council.
