Who We Are

This website has been created by a group of concerned Clifton Wood residents with no political affiliation. Our purpose is to put the case for the development of a pilot residents parking zone in our area in collaboration with Bristol City Council.

We like to think that we are the quiet voice of reason -- we are trying to see that misinformation doesn't actually get results.

Our concerns

We have been motivated by the negative effect on local residents of parking both in the daytime and night by commuters and residents of multiple occupancy dwellings outside our area.

We feel that the solution is to work in close collaboration with Bristol City Council to formulate a plan for residents parking which will be low-cost and which will prioritise parking for local residents.

This website is also designed to allay some of the fears prompted by the vigorous anti-residents parking campaign which we feel does not represent a true picture of the situation.

Picture of the month*

Once again, an ambulance is stuck!

Commuters, apart from taking up spaces, frequently don't have the skills needed to park properly in our narrow streets.

Yet another misleading leaflet from Keep Parking Free...

The "NO" campaign is organised from outside this area and has never attempted to suggest solutions to our very real problems.

KPF have maintained a campaign of misinformation -- designed to frighten -- if you have read the leaflet, read what we say about what they say...

HOW THEY DO IT IN BATH

Bath has successfully managed residents parking schemes for 10 years and have lots of useful experience. To get a balanced picture we have spoken at length with the parking manager for Bristol and North East Somerset and to a local resident who is familiar with local residents associations has been concerned with residents parking since its inception.
